The Testimonial
10 April 1645.—Ordains to mak intimation that none who wanted Testimonialls presum to communicat at yis tym.
(Note. — Every person removing from one parish to another required a Testimonial from the Session showing whether they were married or single, free, from scandal, &c. Without a Testimonial no stranger
could enjoy the privileges of the Church. ‘Disjunction Certificates which are now granted do not deal with the private affairs of church members.)
