History of Scotland
The history of Scotland begins around 10,000 years ago, when humans first began to inhabit Scotland after the end of the Devensian glaciation, the last ice age. Of the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age civilization that existed in the country, many artifacts remain, but few written records were left behind. for more click here

Do you have memorabilia from the First World War? Do you have a story to tell about a relative who lived through this historic event?
If you do, join us on 4th June 2008

Learning Centre, Central Library, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh
We’ll photograph your items, or record your story. Your memorabilia will become part of a nationwide project to gather together and preserve, in digital form, everyday items which reflect the experience of soldiers on the front line and of the people on the Home Front.
Items that are of particular interest include letters, photographs, diaries, poetry, audio, film and other objects that originated during the First World War.
