ROYAL visitors have always received a warm welcome and enthusiastic reception from the Capital and its residents. Today, the Queen’s visit is expected to hold onlookers in thrall as she arrives to open the third session of the Scottish Parliament.
Back in 1903, onlookers on Princes Street craned over balconies to witness the arrival of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. The Royal couple attended a function at St Giles’ Cathedral and opened the new fever hospital – later to become the City Hospital – at Greenbank. for more click here
