In 1811 or so, The Royal Bounty appears to have changed hands and apparently was not involved in Whaling. She seems to have made a voyage to America and then in 1812, a voyage to Quebec. On the voyage to Quebec, she was attacked by the American Privateer Yankee from Bristol Rhode Island. She was set afire by the Privateers and the crew and passengers set adrift. They made land near Burin Newfoundland. The Royal Bounty was apparently repaired and was back in service as a whaler from Leith in 1813. I’d be very interested in any information on this event.
