Charter of Edward de Lastalric-c1178/88
It is from the Lastalric family that Restalrig derives its name, Greenside mentioned in the Charter lies below Calton Hill near the top of Leith Walk. In this Charter the Carmalite Nuns of North Berwick are granted land in Leith and at Greenside on which was built the Rood Chapel where the Nuns cared for Lepers.
