Canal History
The formation of the Seagull Trust was to serve two purposes: to bring the peace and relaxation of canal cruising to disabled people and to assist in the regeneration of the Scottish Lowland Canals which had been closed in the early 1960’s.
The Caledonian Canal has been in use since it was completed and opened in 1847 and it will be seen elsewhere in this site that we have been successful in assisting with the regeneration of the Union and Forth & Clyde Canals.
