Edinburgh North & Leith

Prior to the 1983 boundary changes, Leith was Edinburgh’s smallest seat with an electorate of only 37,204. This was increased to 60,652 in 1983 when Edinburgh North was abolished and the areas of West Pilton, Muirhouse, Inverleith and Warriston were added to the constituency. In the review for the 1997 election, Muirhouse was transferred to Edinburgh West, while the renamed seat of Edinburgh North & Leith gained Carlton and Lochend from East and New Town and Stockbridge from Central.for more click here
