Spirited attempt to drum up £1m sale

The exact ingredients of Drambuie liqueur remain a mystery, passed down through the female line of the Mackinnon family, who were reputedly entrusted with the recipe by Bonnie Prince Charlie while he skulked on the isle of Skye. Equally mysterious is the failure of a painting by any Scottish artist to break through the £1m barrier, despite a roll call of celebrated names from Raeburn and Ramsay in the 18th century to Jack Vettriano today.for more click here
