History lessons we should learn
The Chancellor’s call at yesterday’s Fabian Society conference for a celebration of Britishness should be cautiously welcomed by patriotic progressives. In an impassioned speech, he made the case for recapturing the union flag as a ‘British symbol of unity, tolerance and inclusion’.
