War at Sea
It is recorded that Scottish Ships during the log wars with the Edwards of England almost destroyed English Sea Power.
Until Edward III as Tyler says in his “Rotuli Scotiae” taunted his Admirals and Captains in being unable to face the Scots and Flemings to whom they dared not give battle.
In 1336 Scottish ships swept the Channel Coast plundering Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Wight. However Tyrel records the ships were under the command of David Bruce but this seems doubtful.
